I load with Clay Dot powder, cheddite primers and AACF's/Gun Club's/STS hulls. I do this for both 7/8 and 1oz loads with the CB0178-12 and/or CB1100-12 wads. Tite group is not known to be extremely clean. The "dished in" crimp lowers the pressure . From what I have seen. But your definition of dished in. Is probably different than mine. It isn't just a pistol powder. Many good shotgun powders are also pistol powders. Being used in pistol shouldn't be an issue.
